Let Janus take his time. Assumed that was the point of the slow refill of the coffee. Time. Thinking. Didn't say anything. Didn't so much as rock on the legs of the old chair. Didn't argue about the lack of value in trading something of no value. Repetition deliberate. Knew that already. Had known it when he made the offer. Didn't add that giving stuff up didn't matter very much, since nothing about him was permanent. Considered all the other things he'd mentioned. Would be glad to give up the haunts, but that might end up being a challenge out here. Needed the boat. "Cars," he finally offered. Loved cars. Had already ordered two to be shipped out here. Had been looking forward to tinkering with them as a way to spend the time. But seemed the best thing to give up. "But for more than just one 12-hour jaunt."
