Liked being visited. Was kidding about getting a kitten. Wasn't really befriending Stein. Was just joking about that, but did mind interaction. Was accustomed to interacting with kids daily. Kids talked a lot. Wasn't accustomed to the sound of his own voice nearly as much as had been happening lately. Wasn't close to anyone, for obvious reasons that didn't seem applicable here, but was used to interaction.
Watched Janus progress toward the coffee. "Cream and sugar in the fridge." Real cream. Liked real cream. His own coffee was pale and sweet, and he lifted the old mug to his lips and sipped. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" Grinned. As per usual, there were no haunts around. For Atticus, it added to the uncomfortable silence of the island, but knew it was probably a positive thing for Janus.
