He didn't like the sound of that. "So where is he?" He stood again. "Is he okay?" He'd thought Newt would tell him outright if anything was wrong, but that - that got him worried.
Sue didn't know what Newt was thinking about him - what he regretted, what he did or didn't know. All he saw was Newt, staying level as always. He didn't give much away, which was sort of maddening. It made it very difficult to chase him in the conversation. It made him always feel two steps behind, locked on the other side of something he could only guess at.
"It's not that it didn't work," he said, a touch more muted. He looked toward the window, stuffed with its pillow to block the false light. "It worked." Begrudgingly. "It helped." He stared at the window. "It's a robot, so apparently it's got a pretty incredible reaction time. Big margin for error, though, you're right. That's why they're building a subcutaneous version." His affect had turned flat, and he looked up. "Would you tell me why you're here?"
