Re: Bus stop: Misha & Lou
Misha, he didn't cotton to religion. Any and all of them, they were all just believing, but he wasn't born of any faith. He didn't reckon she would think him Holy, on account of it wasn't the thing that came to mind for Repose folks, and that was fine with him. His world, it wasn't 'bout any one belief. The watchers he always saw 'round, they took the form of whatever folks believed, and belief created religion, not the other way 'round, and folks just didn't realize. Point was, Heaven and Hell didn't have a lick to do with faiths, and that was something he'd learned slow, realized when he wasn't meant to realize it none at all.
And, just like that, he was walking. Course, the men might up and come after them, but he was hoping that wasn't the case. For all that he'd come to terms with his ability to do a whole lot of damage, he also found he wasn't inclined any to do that damage, even when folks deserved it. That was 'nother lesson taught unintentional, and by David Park. "You shouldn't just go telling folks," he said of her confession, though he reckoned she knew that. "The prison in the Capital, it's just the first of its kind, and there will be a lot of places made to house folks the law considers uncontrollable." He didn't think a lot 'bout that, but he reckoned it was worth saying.
He smiled over at her. His smile was young, warm, and it proclaimed 'trust me' real loud. He wasn't a boy anyone was frightened of. Slight and sweet looking, harmless as a fly. "I don't talk 'bout it, 'bout what I am, so you're going to have to be content in just knowing that I'm something." Only certain folks could see his wings, and it wasn't like he'd be able to prove it. He really didn't talk 'bout it much. Even folks that did know, it was unspoken rather than being something directly spelled out. Folks, he reckoned, could make up their own minds. "I'm like anything else in this world, anyone else. I got good, and I got bad, and I reckon that's the best way I can say it. Just like them men back there, and I reckon it all sits with what we choose to do."
