Divorce rates are dropping among younger people, possibly because fewer people feel obligated to get married to fit societal norms so those that do get married do so because they are intentionally choosing it. And I think it's entirely possible, gay or straight, to intentionally choose love and to build something longer lasting. Obviously there are people who do it, and they apparently don't self-sabotage, maybe because they think it's worth the attempt to not self-sabotage in the first place.
