Re: Under the lights: Tandy/Mars
Without question, the greatest feature of her ensemble wasn't that it was stain resistant, because clearly it was very not. Rather, the greatest thing was that it had pockets. One might not think that pockets were all that special, but it was so very rare to find something cute and functional. The pockets allowed for a hands free state, which Mars reasoned was good for any party. Not that she'd ever really been to a party before, this was technically her first, as she refused to count be-spelled book pages and the like. Anyway, the pockets kept her cell phone safe, her lip gloss at the ready, and her breath fresh by means of strawberry tic tacs. She gave him a steady, albeit unimpressed look, while popping a couple into her mouth for a chew when he talked about liking science. "Right."
Despite the spill, the boy who'd introduced himself as Tandy hadn't landed entirely on her bad side. Otherwise she might have rallied with indignation and mocking over his less-than-traditional name. But really, Mars didn't really have a leg to stand on in that department. She never, ever went by Margot. "I'm Mars," she offered in trade. She didn't know very much about pouring beer, but he seemed to do it with care, which made her take notice. She took the cup and sipped, finding the beer taste greatly masked, although not in an entirely pleasant way, by the miniature strawberry candies she'd munched just previously.
