Re: By the bonfire: Holly/Trav
Holly watched the process with the cigarette, but he didn't ask to bum one. He just balanced his red cup on his knee, and he shook his head about zombies and meth addicts. "We had meth addicts back home. The zombies? Different story altogether." Holly loved his sci-fi, but even he'd reached a point where the Walking Dead felt like some weekly torture session, okay? He needed some positive in his television viewing. Even Twilight Zone wasn't all nuclear holocaust, all the time. "Our demographic is early-mid 20s, single, women." Which made him grin, because it was bullshit. "I mean, it was mostly women watching Queer As Folk, right?"
Holly knew the blame-game was a thing. Travis had made that pretty clear from go. And he got it. Holly did get it. Like, if it was him? If someone, even Travis, was keeping him trapped in a place and away from someone he was crazy into? Holly would probably knock them upside the head and drag them wherever they needed to be, you know, for him to get back. Okay, okay, maybe he wouldn't go through with it, but he would seriously consider it. It depended on how much he disliked the person. But he liked Travis. Sure, Travis had been a jock, but he'd never broken his face in. As far as Holly was concerned, that was pretty good for a jock where they came from. He didn't remember Travis yelling any slurs, either, when the whole 'gay PornHub' thing had come out in high school, so, yeah. He was sorry for the guy, and he was sorry if he was causing this shit. If, and that was a big if.
"The military found me out there. He was looking out for you. That's what he does. And Tandy's reckless. Just as reckless as the one back home. Did you ever meet the girl here? She was the opposite of reckless." Holly used the cup to point out toward the facility. "Trust me, you don't want them knowing you're alive, not if you can help it," he said with beer-honesty. "I'll help if I can. I mean it. Just... in a safe way." But, right, normalcy. "So, at least tell me you been doing something fun, interesting, something."
