Re: Hannah S/Claire J
Was he just trying not to hurt her feelings? I never understand why people don't just say what they mean and what they're feeling. It would make things so much easier. If Jamie said, Hannah I don't like you because ____, then I could work on it. If Jeremiah said, I said this because ____, then I would understand. Why make everything confusing?
I think what matters is that we care about each other, and how we say things isn't anything, not at the end of the day, not really.
I think people are too sensitive. Words are our way of communicating, but it seems like so many people take what we say and make it about something else. if I say 'I like you,' they read into it and they add a 'but' or an 'if,' and really I just meant what I said: I like you. I don't understand why they do that, either, and I'm really, really sorry you were hurt by it, but I haven't figured out how to make it not happen, either, at least not for myself. [...] It sounds to me like everyone suffered because there were creatures from another dimension trying to open a gate, and it sounds to me like everyone suffered a lot less because you did what you did. If you hadn't, we might all still be asleep or worse.
