Archie nodded, blinking slowly, thoughtfully, still listening to Mason. "I know. I know working for things isn't really your style," there was a gentleness to his words, it wasn't cruel or scathing. "But I don't want you to do this unless you genuinely want to. Because we won't work if the foundation is just that...right now you crave me."
If that was really the case, though, Archie was sure they wouldn't be here. Mason would have gotten over it and moved on to a new infatuation. Or not. Mason didn't do infatuations. Or relationships. Or boyfriends.
Archie stood, moving towards Mason, taking hold of the hand that had been pointing at him. "We'll go slow, yeah? No more cohabiting until we're actually ready. Hurdles are easy to jump if you're slow down."
Leaning down, he touched his lips to Mason's cheek briefly, because they were a little chilly. "I'd love for your parents to find out you're dating a vampire though." They would have his staked, sure, but it would be hilarious for a few seconds.
