Archie returned the hug, genuinely relieved to feel the other man's arms around him, pressing his face into Mason's shoulder and breathing in.
"Thank you for watching over me," he said quietly, the words mumbled against Mason. "You didn't have to." He would have done exactly the same though, wouldn't he? If something had happened to Mason he would have been right there, watching over him. He didn't need sleep, it would have been fine. "Thank you."
And he wasn't willing, just yet, to let Mason go. They had things to talk about, but this was good. This was something he'd missed just as much as he'd missed the man himself.
