Re: Log: Jeremiah M+Hannah S+Jamie M+Si M
Hannah wasn't trying to cause trouble, and she wasn't trying to make dinner a bad dinner, and it didn't even occur to her that she might be doing that at all. She just said what was at the top of her head, words spilled and curious, and she tipped her head to the side her usual way, ear to shoulder, as Jeremiah explained about Pippin. "She was really, really upset," she said of Pippin, and she waited to see if Jeremiah said anything else about it, but he didn't, and she was surprised. Pippin had said a lot of things, and Hannah didn't understand, and Si was asking about their relationship. "I think it's open, but kind of not, right?" she asked Jeremiah. He would be better at explaining than her. "I don't mind about Pippin. I knew about Pippin, but she said things I didn't know, and I don't understand why people don't just say things how they are." Hannah didn't sound upset. She was just confused.
Jamie ignored all the relationship stuff altogether, and Hannah wondered why, but she didn't say anything. For once, she just looked at her brother and wondered, and she glanced from him to Si, and then back again. "Jeremiah thought he was helping," she said of the dead man and the drugging, but that wasn't hers to explain either. She'd just wanted to lure the elephant out into the open. Hannah didn't like secrets. She liked to talk things out and say things plain, and she didn't understand very much when people didn't. She didn't understand a smoke break, either, not really. "I think you can smoke in here," she said, looking at Jeremiah, "and we should probably sit and eat soon," she added, not making any attempt to reclaim Si's drink. And, Hannah, being Hannah, didn't understand why anyone would be struggling, not at all. They were just talking, right?
