Re: Log: Jeremiah M+Hannah S+Jamie M+Si M
Hannah stopped lavishing attention on the dog, and she stood and regarded her brothers. She wasn't born yesterday, except she maybe kind of mostly was, but she could still tell the room was tense, tense, and they weren't really even inside the room yet. She didn't know why, and she cocked her head in her usual way, confusion evidenced in cornflower-blue eyes that most people just assumed were vacuous. Si asked for a drink, and Jamie was polite and thanked Jeremiah for the invite, and Hannah felt the tension taut along her shoulders. It made all her own questions bubble and boil, the ones she hadn't had a chance to ask yet, and she stepped away from the door and in, in, in.
"I talked to Pippin," she said, and there was no segue, no lead-in, nothing bringing the conversation from there to here. Hannah was really terrible at social niceties, and she didn't really think to wait, wait, shhhh. She just walked to where the drinks were, since Si had asked for one, and she knew Jeremiah would come make him one. "Oh," she said, looking at her brothers, "Pippin works at the facility. She's a friend, and she spent some time with Jeremiah at the masquerade, and she was really, really talkative about it with me recently," she told him, told them, and she didn't sound angry. She sounded confused, maybe, a little bit. "Oh!," this one louder than the previous 'oh,' "and in case you both saw the news about Jeremiah, it's okay. I already knew. So it doesn't have to be weird," she added, in case there was an elephant in the room, and maybe that would take care of all the tense things.
