The dissonance of the clang of notes on the piano seemed rather fitting for the moment. In a different time and place, he might have retreated, winced away from the reaction he received when Dietre laid eyes upon him, but those sort of reactions were for the living, and he was decidedly not part of that group anymore.
But he didn't say anything, not initially, gaze instead fixing on something beyond Dietre, anything but looking back at him and meeting that despairing gaze.
"I'm not sure. I- it's foggy." The words seemed to come from a place far, far away, and finally he dragged his gaze back towards Dietre, stepping towards him, a hand extended. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
