Kratos got about half that. He understood most of the bits about the Academy Awards. Those had been explained to him in great detail. Mimir and Atreus, who both stayed in Kratos' house, prattled in Atreus' native tongue about movies continually. Kratos spoke his son's language, which was Atreus' mother's language, as well as he spoke his own. Ten times better than he spoke Modern American English. He hadn't any idea what an investigator was, but he got the gist. Pippin wasn't going to go on the news.
"You inform the scholars of the large beasts." He sounded satisfied with this explanation. Pippin being a kind of scholar, a soft spell caster with a bit of lightning in her bag, this made sense to him. Spellcasters were often squeaky in the same way, and scholars were always popping up in bad places. He nodded his large head. This was a good answer. He learned what he wished to know.
