Re: Down: Lucifer / Misha
Misha really didn't reckon the things he said had an impact on the man sat across from him, or he wouldn't have complained 'bout bad places and bad treatments. He was accustomed to talking and having things downplayed recent, and he really didn't think a whole lot 'bout saying them, didn't reckon what he said would have effect. Could be that was just youth, and it was nice some to have someone listen. Damian, he always listened, but Misha didn't much like to bring more darkness into the boy's life, and he was kind of real determined to try to make Damian's life golden 'stead.
And it was real good that his daddy sounded like he approved of things with Damian. Misha, he knew sure and complete that Damian was real good for him. Too, he was plenty social, even if he hadn't been doing a whole lot of socializing recent, and that was true 'nough. But his daddy was asking 'bout light, and Misha was thinking on that as the cocoa refilled and steamed warm 'tween his palms. "I love music. Fiddling mostly. Performing? Any kind of performing," he said, some animation coming back to his voice. "I ain't played in a bit. My real good friend, Sadie, she left town, but we used to play a lot together. She's a fiddler too," he explained. "But that ain't nothing but a hobby. It's not like it's something for me to do with my life," he suggested, since it seemed a whole lot selfish to spend his time doing something only for himself.
He sipped at his cocoa and considered free will some. It fed into that problem that was bigger than him, and he thought 'bout keys and where his daddy would go. "I guess," he began, thoughtful, "that if there's got to be a balance, then there's got to be you. Or there's got to be someone doing what you do," he suggested. It was a new way of looking at it, and it sure wasn't Heaven's way or any church's way. Here, he chewed his lip again. "There's this man that's been killing folks, bad folks, because he's hurt and broken, and I been trying to make him stop. I promised him I would bring back anyone he killed, but I'm worried he won't stop, even then. I want to help him," he explained, just so his daddy understood he didn't want this man dead none. He wanted him helped.
