Re: Down: Lucifer / Misha
Misha, he wasn't expecting any reaction from his daddy 'bout the chocolate, and largely on account of he didn't realize he was giving him anything react to. As much as Misha wore his heart on his sleeve and his emotion on his face, he wasn't exactly real aware of it. He was plenty aware that his feelings 'bout his childhood were complicated, and that most folks were just uncomfortable with the whole mess of it, but that was 'bout the extent of it. It wasn't something he talked 'bout a whole lot these days, and Damian was the only person he'd really come out and open with all it 'bout.
He considered intentions, which he'd thought once were real, real crucial, but these days he wasn't so sure. But he wanted to believe it was true, that intention mattered. "When I step back and I think 'bout that night in the woods, I still can't imagine not helping someone who was hurt. And I thought that's what I was being asked to do, and I really did think it was the right thing at the time. I ain't sure why it wasn't the right thing, and so I don't know what would help, not 'less I just don't do things to help folks," he said, and he sighed. "I always feel real dumb as bricks," he admitted. "Folks are real smart, and I ain't, but I'm real tired of feeling dumb," he admitted. It was more than he'd intended to say, but there it was.
Then his daddy was talking 'bout antithesis, and Misha could understand where that frustration comes from. He smiled some after, real young and with chocolate ringing his upper lip that he licked away. "He didn't do it. It wasn't His doing. That's why He's fussed. It wasn't meant to happen, least not to His thinking, and think how frightening that must be to Him? Something happened that He had no control over, and it had to do with one of His creations," Misha said. He wasn't sure what it all meant, but he knew well 'nough to know it meant something. "It's like there was prophecy, and He reckoned it was all talk, and it turned out not to be. He's spent a long time trying to keep it all from surfacing, and now it has."
