Re: Down: Lucifer / Misha
"I never said it wasn't. But humor can be dark, even if it's teasing," Lucifer parried back, brow still lifted and now joined by a twist of expression that wasn't quite a smile. And it wasn't only Misha's easy to read face, or the fact that Lucifer had an uncountable passage of time that he'd spent learning how people's hearts and minds reflected on the outside. It was also that there were bits of expression and even mannerism that were familiar, though disjointed to see them across the way and seated on a cushion.
He could easily find a way to argue with Misha's opinion on people and their fears, but that wasn't what he'd issued his invitation for. In fact, talking about Claire hadn't been that reason either, but they'd slipped into it (at Misha's prompting). He took a drink from that steaming mug and reached to the side to set it down again. It gave him a moment to plan his approach.
"That seems like a drastic and unsustainable thing to give your word about."
