Re: In-person: Daniel/Noah
This wasn't gossip, man. This was straight from the horse's mouth. But, Noah got it. Daniel would've wanted to be there. Unfortunately, impulsive decisions rarely allowed for that kind of thing, and this was no exception. But, they could always do something for family, you know? The thought of that was cheering, and Noah smiled at Daniel, totally and entirely hopeful. Noah had no attachment to his own name. It was his dad's and it wasn't like he knew the dude at all—and what he did know about him, he didn't like. He didn't know the history of Webster, but it was attached to Holly, which was all Noah needed.
He watched the refusal form, like a pool, and then evaporate. Daniel smiled and it didn't make Noah want to smile back at all. But, dude, whatever, because Noah was so not going to pick at a 'yes' when it came his way. "For real?" He grinned. He gave Daniel a friendly slap on the back in his excitement. "Thank you so much, Mr. W. I promise not to, like, bring shame upon your house or anything." 'House.' It reminded Noah of Shakespeare and the plague thing, and he was half-teasing, half-serious, and still smiling.
