Re: In-person: Daniel/Noah
Daniel's black eyes focused on the ring and his expression was not what you could call pleased. For one, he didn't know two young men could run off and get married that easily; the way the media made it sound, it was a more difficult endeavor, but obviously he was mistaken, or perhaps too isolated to know the process. Second, he was hurt to find out this way, a bit of gossip far after the fact. "Cool," Daniel said, in a tone that was most certainly not cool but closer to the low side of neutral. But his pained disapproval waned somewhat in the face of Noah's boyish exuberance. At least he was foolishly happy, dripping with it, which meant likely Noah was too, and Daniel did wish his grandson happy. The warming frozen over solid at the request. His immediate gut reaction was no, and hearty. His name was far older than he and had a sanctity that stretched so far and loomed so large that Daniel himself didn't think he deserved it.
Then an ugly emotion, a bleak vindication, cut into that. His grandfather would roll over in his grave that two sodomites would have his name. Daniel smiled unpleasantly. He loved that idea. "Yes, very well. If Holly agrees."
