Jeremiah grinned. "The cats are Espresso and Cinnamon, when I inevitably get another dog, which seems to be what I do these days is collect animals, I will consider Soul as the name for it." He knew as much about the full moon, and frankly had limited his nighttime walks to close to the house even on non-full moon nights. It wasn't that he didn't have to take Heart out, but he wasn't going to endanger either of them if he didn't have to.
There was a raised eyebrow at her question, followed by a bit of a bemused smile.
"Yes," he answered, and it wasn't a lie, even if it wasn't the entire truth. It was the name he'd been born with, the name that had been on his birth certificate, if not his preferred name, and one that still set uneasily on his shoulders most of the time. There was always a part of him that wanted to correct the use of it, and he supposed that was part of his own personal penance. "Gifted to me by the man I called father." Again truth, but shades of it.
