Stepping inside only once invited, Aleksi found himself smiling in return, though his expression was much smaller than Noah’s, almost tentative. Although they were about the same height, Aleksi was a bit hunched over, as if trying to apologize for his intrusion into someone else’s space by making himself as small as possible.
He couldn’t remember the last time he’d had anything resembling a chocolate shake, but that didn’t change his answer. “Yes, I do,” Aleksi confirmed with a small nod, and immediately follow it up with another, “Thank you. For all of this.”
It was, truly, an unnecessary expense and effort for a complete stranger - and while Aleksi was learning to be graceful in his graciousness, seeing as he had presently no way of fending for himself, he still found himself struck by the kindness of everyone that had provided him any type of assistance thus far. “I appreciate it more than I can say.”
