Re: [Strip club: Nel & Eames]
Nel could be whoever she wanted to be at all times, and she chose to be this. She didn't choose an endlessly youthful appearance, and she'd no true interest in being male, though she didn't mind the experience. But this was the face she chose to show to the world, and it was who she considered herself to most be. She'd carefully aged herself yearly since sixteen, as the world paid little mind to a young ingenue. The only way to be respected was to be older, at least as a woman, and so here she was.
"Does it?" she asked noncommittally of rules making things sound terribly official. After all, it was his rule and not hers. She lit the cigarette with no further commentary about men and women. When one was as fluid as she was, those rules were rather more hazy. She was born as a woman, that was true, but she was also a god, and she was also a shapeshifter, and so on and so forth. Rather than commenting further, she enjoyed her cigarette. Foreign cigarettes, with their vastly stronger carcinogens, were much more tasty than American cigarettes.
She chuckled. "Don't you know that those of us who spend our time surrounded by legends like to be alone every so often?" It wasn't entirely true, not her truth, but it was true as a rule, in general, for the profession. "One gets tired of the divas and the cocaine, and a plane flight is just a few hours. It doesn't matter where I live," she explained, and that was entirely true. The Capital had an international airport, and that was all Nel required. And she did fly on a plane, even without needing to. She was as human as she could be, and she was this as often as she could be. No sense drawing attention. "First class is quite comfortable, and the view is often superb," she added, looking back to the woman on the stage.
Once more, she glanced at her camera. "Like everything in life, dearest, it all depends on what you wish to achieve. Truth or lies or something between." Nel had been interviewed countless times by fashion magazines and documentarians, and she'd no problem discussing her trade.
