Re: Hannah & Jeremiah; Jester's Court
"It would be a hit," she said of his makebelieve screenplay. She didn't know much about screenplays, and Amy had never been the type to even sit and watch movies, but Hannah thought it would be a wonderful, wonderful movie. "And we won't even kill the prince. They do that a lot in books, haven't you noticed? Kill or torture the girl, but it's not really about the girl, it's just about the boy experiencing something." She shook her head. "No, your screenplay won't be like that at all. And it'll be wild. Can it be wild? I don't think I like well-behaved romances," she said, pulling a face that indicated just how much she disliked very staid heroines.
She liked the closeness, the warmth, and this kind of felt like what she thought movie moments were supposed to look like. The ones where women sighed in their seats at the movies, and she smiled at him. "I don't think you needed saving, Jeremiah," she said, all in honesty, "but I'm glad I helped you a little bit, even if it was just to find your way back to you." It was nice to hear, especially in light of her failures with David and Jamie and Si.
His words about the kingdom were more about how he sounded than what he said, at least to Hannah, and she met his kiss with the softness she'd learned he liked, and it was nice. Her fingers were at his shoulders, twisting fabric in idleness, and she pulled back a teensy bit when he said he saw her. "I'm not sure anyone sees me, not really, but you treat me like me, and I like that," she explained, knowing perfectly well the words made no sense, could make no sense, to anyone but her.
