He leaned forward, pressing his forehead against hers, drawing close into her space as if she might disappear or leave - even if there was no easy way for her to do so, and even though she seemed to be trying to reassure him that she had no intention of leaving, and he was grateful for it. His hands slipped up to cup her jaw, and for a moment he just held there and after a moment, he shook his head. "I can't... I don't.... I've talked to them. I mean, my father - my biological father - is the reason I'm here."
He glanced down briefly, and then closed his eyes, relying only on the sense of touch as he listened to her words. He nodded, breathing in, and with it breathing in courage, and also something that might have been relief. He'd told her, and she hadn't run away. He opened his eyes again and pulled back to look at her. "I didn't mean to pull my shadows into this evening, Hannah, but I know you have yours too," he slid his hand into hers. "I -" There was a moment where he maybe was going to say something else and then he didn't. Instead he offered her a smallish smile. "I'm here with you, and we're still going to go find our castle, and maybe dance."
