Re: Hannah & Jeremiah; Jester's Court
Hannah never, ever asked questions about things that weren't people. Even when she should, she didn't. She went with a gut she didn't actually have, and it wasn't anything to do with her programming. She'd wondered, just when she'd found out Amy was dead and not her, she'd wondered. She'd wondered and wondered, and then she'd stopped, and she just went with what felt right and whenever it felt right. Being here felt right, and she didn't question what she was seeing with cornflower eyes gone so, so wide. She just laughed and, gleefully, she looked up and up when he did, as if she could see the ferris wheels through his eyes. She couldn't, and she didn't know about his memory, but she knew he was thinking something, and she wished she was in his head and could know. "All the way to the top," she echoed.
She leaned when he wrapped his arm around her waist. Comfortable, soft, lean, lean, and she didn't hurry. She looked at the people as they passed them, those shadows of other times that overlapped, and she wondered about them. But she was quiet until he helped her into the ferris wheel carriage, and she gave him a quick curtsy before taking her seat.
"Sit, sit, before it starts moving," she told him, and she tipped her head back, as if she could look all the way to the top and through the carriage roof. "If we get stuck, we'll spend the night there, talking and looking at everyone and everything, and someone will rescue us eventually. It is our kingdom, after all," she reminded him, her smile showing no concern. If they became stuck, they'd find a way. Hannah wasn't much a planner, and she always believed a way out would present itself.
"What were you thinking down there?" she asked him idly, tugging his hand to make him sit if he hadn't yet, and so the wheel began turning. "When you looked up, it looked like you were lost in thought for a flicker." She knew him, and she'd noticed.
