Hannah & Jeremiah; Jester's Court
Wandering around an abandoned theme park after dark was nothing Jeremiah would typically do. But in a way it reminded him of something he might have agreed to with another woman, a long time before he'd met Hannah. It was the sort of thing she would have loved, and there would have been a near wildness in her eyes when she suggested it, and there would have been talk of ghosts, and he was certain that doing this with Hannah would not be like that.
Which was alright.
He didn't need to be reminded of what he couldn't have, and he wanted to focus instead on what he did, or maybe what might be possible, and that meant that he wanted it to be different. Casual wasn't something he did easily, but he'd worn jeans with his sweater and the jacket he'd pulled over, in case it was chilly, and he had comfortable shoes on as he approached the entrance of the park, careful, but smiling as soon as he saw Hannah's form.
It was the same smile he always gave her, warm and delighted in the fact that he was getting to spend time with her, and when he did, old ghosts floated away, as much ancient history as the crowds that might have at one time come through these gates with the hope of cotton candy, and roller coaster thrills. He reached forward with one hand and pulled her in for a quick kiss. "You look like you're ready for adventure -- are you?"
