"Seattle," he answered without hesitation. It wasn't a secret, even if he didn't always talk a lot about his past. Seattle was something he could talk about probably far too endlessly. It was home in his heart, and that made it an easy topic of conversation, and there was a smile on his lips as he spoke. "Technically I was born and raised in Bellevue, which is the other side of Lake Washington, but people don't always know where that is. I was most recently in Seattle anyway."
He took a sip of the gin with a smirk. "I suppose I'll make it easy on you and not ask for that information," he put the glass of gin on the mantle and watched her with the cat. Espresso was not easily enticed, and seemed to just blink lazily at her, and Jeremiah couldn't help but smile. "He's not exactly the most energetic of animals. Sometimes I think he's angry that I moved into this place because he does not want to have to walk a city block between his food dish and my bedroom." He watched her for a moment, then asked: "How did you end up in Repose? Just the job? Or...?"
