Re: [Tandy & Holly: the good diner]
"Campbell's trumps Marilyn any day of the week." Okay, look, yeah, Holly was majorly into old cinema, but Marilyn wasn't a favorite. He found her performances way stilted, and he wasn't impressed by her curves, so, you know, not his thing. He was more interested in the historical and sexist journey she took to become Marilyn, but that was a conversation for another time. Maybe it was a conversation for some classic movie subreddit, and his mind strayed momentarily as he settled on his side of the booth.
Holly didn't go for cheese on his fries, but Tandy asking for cheese on his? Made Holly pipe up with a forgotten request, which, you know, he would've just made after the fries arrived. Annoying waitresses was something Holly was kinda good at. "Some buffalo wing sauce and blue cheese on the side," he added, and then he sat back more comfortably. "I get cheese with my fries all the time," he added, lifting a shoulder. Today was a spicy day, but some days were cheese days, and some days were days made for dipping fries in a chocolate shake. Holly wasn't exactly a healthy eater.
Okay, look, yeah, he was kinda freaked about everything lately, but you'd never know it to look at Holly Webster. Noah, wherever he was in town, educating young minds or whatever, wouldn't even sense him brimming over. In other words, he was acclimating. He was good at, you know, survival, and a huge part of surviving was getting used to changes in situation and surrounding. Here, now, he looked down at Tandy's doodling. It was familiar, right? So familiar, but Holly wasn't the type of animated person that was going to gasp at the familiarity. "My nose isn't that long," he deadpanned.
The waitress returned, and Holly was quiet a moment, dipping his steak fries from buffalo sauce to blue cheese. Once she was out of hearing, he looked back at the guy across from him. "So, are you going to hit the elephant in the room, or am I? Did you talk to Trav?"
