Re: Visiting the Hospital
"Nah. It's good. Stay and help me outside, yeah? If you don't mind the way the clove smells," Sam said, grateful for the company, and glad she could avoid the long walk to the nursery. Even more glad that she could avoid the looks that she was SURE would come over Lou an D's faces when they saw the baby. Yeah, nah, she didn't mind the company.
And she wasn't gonna bail, which was the defiant look she gave Cris as he stood, in that last second while his bandaged hand was against her throat.
So, yeah, she waited until the hombres moved toward the elevator, and then she rolled the IV pole toward Iris, so that her sis could help her outside, where it was nice and cool, and where the whole fucking world didn't smell like hospital. And it was Daniel's back she watched, yeah? As they retreated, because she wasn't completely sure he wouldn't lose his shit once he got upstairs, but there wasn't anything she could do about that.
And Lou would make it ok or whatever, yeah? Because she thought, as she watched Lou's face, that her brother might be in DEEP. Which, yk, wasn't good news with D. But she wasn't going to butt into that, yeah? Lou had barely talked to her since Thanksgiving, and he was on his own about D now.
