Re: Visiting the Hospital
Iris spent the ride in the back of the car, an e-reader in her hands. She'd greeted both Louis and Daniel at the outset of their trip, but hadn't received much of a response in return, and so had kept to herself for the rest of the trip. She had a bag of her own, kept safe on the seat next to her, mostly things for Sam (though she'd maybe splurged on a few newborn onesies and hats to tuck in the bag as well).
She was already out of the car by the time Daniel stepped out of it, following not far behind Louis, but hanging back when he went up to the desk to inquire about Sam. She'd dealt with enough looks in her life, and was able to let his slide off of her without comment or reaction. She was there to see Sam and possibly Joey. And that was it.
"No one likes hospitals." She suspected the words weren't meant for her specifically, especially since Daniel hadn't said a word to her for the entire ride from Repose, but she was standing close enough while waiting for Louis that it wasn't out of the question for her to respond. She shifted the bag that was looped over her shoulder, giving off the soft scent of freshly baked sourdough - rolls instead of a loaf, as she thought they might keep better for Sam.
