Re: Dinner: Athelstan and Ragnar
"You were always family to me, too," Ragnar said. "If that means anything to you." Perhaps it didn't make up for having a real family. It probably didn't.
"I promise you, Athelstan, I promise, I'll let you know. And I couldn't- I couldn't resent you. It's been so long, and I-" Ragnar gazed at Athelstan, a little longing in his eyes.
But then oh, Athelstan was just lovely. His smile melted Ragnar in the best possible way. He nibbled at the same spot on the other's wrist, then grinned, pressing a kiss there. "I can do something about that."
In his lounge Ragnar had some things he had carried around, things that were dear to him. Things that meant something. And in there was Athelstan's arm ring. It was worth leaving him for a few moments to fetch it. And maybe- maybe it would help Athelstan.
"Here-" Ragnar returned to the kitchen, band in hand, smirk on his face. "-a gift from your king. Do you think you are worthy of it? This offering?" He teased, leaning in close. "Tell your king how good you will be for him."
