Re: Dinner: Athelstan and Ragnar
Ragnar frowned at Athelstan, as though he didn't know if he was joking or not. "Of course not. I would have happily spent the last 1200 years living with you. My home is large enough for both of us, do you not think?" he asked, gesturing around. "But it is up to you. You have family here of course. Perhaps the two of you would want to spend more time together-"
He would leave the invitation open, he would let Athelstan decide if that was what he wanted, whenever he wanted. "There is time to think about it, of course. If you decide you need to live elsewhere then you can consider the door open."
Ragnar ate more of his starter, giving a gentle little shrug at the question. "I do have one. I can play if you wish." He leant across the table slightly. "You must sing, though. If I play, I wish to hear you sing."
He had really grown some humility in the last few years. He had failed, and learnt, and grown. And failed a few more times. It was fine. He had learnt patience. And he could apply it now.
"I am doing steak for the main. Do you have a way you like it cooked?"
