Re: Dinner: Athelstan and Ragnar
"They have been interesting. Watching life become easier and easier. I resisted a lot at first. But I was a proud man for too long. Proud or wanting to torture myself. One or the other." He shrugged his shoulder gently. "And yet now I have them all." Not to brag. But he really did. At least the basics. He had never wanted a robot running every part of his home.
That hadn't meant to boost his offer, to tempt Athelstan here all the more. No. He just wanted to converse. He was sure every home had everything he had, even if it wasn't as expensive or well functioning.
"I am saying if you find yourself in need then you are more than welcome to call my home yours," Ragnar replied softly. He was nervous as he watched Athelstan eat, hoping he would enjoy what was given to him. Hoping he could impress him. He wanted to impress him
So it was a sigh of relief that followed when Athelstan approved. He started on the food himself, his knee pressing firmer against his guests. "I have learnt a great many skills over the years. I have had a lot of time on my hands." And okay, maybe he wanted to show off a little bit. "I have learnt a few languages. And been to many places. I learnt to play the piano-" Ragnar smiled, though his expression was slightly coy, bashful.
