Re: Dinner: Athelstan and Ragnar
"Well, I have some mead, but I don't wish to have you drunk tonight," Ragnar smiled as he poured out the wine. "And it is very strong. Perhaps another time."
He was proud of the compliment to his puppy. He'd been training him himself, so he was glad it was noticeable. Or perhaps Stan was just a very clever boy. "He is. And I think he is going to be very smart when he is out of his puppy phase." Ragnar checked his timer, and then looked at Athelstan. "I thought it would be nice to cook you a proper meal. It is nothing extravagant. Salmon, and then steak, and then a pudding. Literally all the things go in the oven and I sit here-" he grinned.
"I am just calling him 'Stan now. But I can come up with a host of other names for him. I usually speak to him in our old tongue. He knows a lot of words." And Ragnar liked that his puppy seemed so taken by their guest. "But tell me now- How is your room at the BnB? Have you seen your brother?" He paused, considering which seat to take, then opted for the one closest to Athelstan. So that their knees can touch.
