[Log: Pippin & Frank: Clocking Out]
Record scratch. Pippin's brain slammed to a halt and she canted her head a little, just enough to be noticed. Of all the information she'd gathered, all the details she'd seen in the reports she entered into the database, just that one not-sentence caught her attention the most. It made Pippin look at Repose in a whole new light.
"Makes us..." There wasn't a hint of fear in her voice, just amazement like when a child understands what force it was that made them fall down. "Are you suggesting that this town has a sentience? It would make sense. Explain why this establishment is so permanent and extensive instead of just a camp of temporary labs." Her mind has latched onto this concept now. She'll chase it down the rabbit hole.
"Oh right," she said then reached out to take the card. "I can hear the New York in your voice, but I'm not familiar enough with the different dialects to say which borough but how long have you been here? What have you witnessed that brought you to the conclusion that the town brings people here and keeps them?"
