Ren might not have his magical intuitive abilities, but it didn't take magical intuitive abilities for him to decide that the guy probably wasn't any danger to him. At least, not because he wanted to be. There was till the question of magic, but Ren didn't strictly speaking need it, and to ask about it put things out on the table in a way he wasn't certain he wanted to. And also, there was a level of empathy that existed there, the guy's voice sounded tight and anxious, worried. That didn't entirely alleviate Ren's caution, but instinct said he probably wasn't dangerous - just nervous.
"Yeah, okay, we can do that." Eyes that had been pretty narrowed with determination, relaxed - at least a bit. An account was a little old fashioned as a term, but it didn't seem an impossible thing to manage.
Ren glanced at the book, and wondered if it was what the guy really wanted. "If you like mysteries we just got in a whole bunch of old pulp mysteries, they're probably kinda cheesy, but they're not expensive. Or we've got some literary fiction over there," he nodded his head in the direction of the stack. "Or various non-fiction. We can also order stuff if there's something specific you want." A beat. "Coffee to take with you? Like beans and stuff? or just a cup? I can go make it."
