Re: Pat & Lou: boxes
Patrick was the kind of dude that presented one way, man, and everyone believed the presentation. Friendly, not a care in the world, all-American dude. He helped elderly residents with their groceries, and he was most readily available for assistance crossing the street. He was a good dude, and this was not falsehood, but there was a lot more to the golden boy with the killer Gunster smile. Though (being a private dude) these were not things he shared.
Usually, he would have gone with feigned ignorance about the wolf thing, but he had been working with the wolves since he switched badges, and he did not see the point in pretending, man. If she was going to be out there, she would see him there. This was just how things were, and the dude spent most of this time out in Repose's woods.
"I am 50% not human," he offered, pushing a floppy clump of blond back to reveal a most pointed (and not human) ear. It was an attempt to even the playing field. She was family, and the dude was not looking for an upper hand. "I am also a Ranger. I spend my days in these woods, and I live in them as well. I have known all the wolves in this town that have come before you, my extended-cos, and I suspect I will know the ones that come after. I am not sure there is a pack to join right now, which means we are having more trouble than normal. There have been a few incidents recently where wolves killed people, and this has made the town touchy. I recommend care."
