He smiled: it was tired, but it reached his eyes. He could feel that he'd likely have a headache in the morning, but it possibly had been worth it. It felt as if pressure had been released, and everything he'd been carrying around with him since after Halloween had been laid out finally, and there was a swell of gratitude directed towards Hannah, because he was aware enough that he wouldn't have said any of it normally. The drinks, the lighter conversation that led into the questions, it had all brought him around to here.
He brought in a breath, and he nodded at all of her thoughts, not really finding anything to push back against, or maybe not finding anything that he wanted to push back against. He wanted to believe maybe he was better sometimes, and that Hannah was right. He wanted to believe that making a mistake could be done without destroying everything. He wanted to think that maybe ... maybe. He just wanted some maybes for the future. Ones he didn't hate.
"I want to watch a movie," he told her softly. "Something stupid that we don't have to pay any attention to, will you stay?"
