But even like, art had rules. The golden ratio and the precise mix of colors to make a secondary color before everything turned mud-shit brown. Yeah, sure you could be a savant but you could also learn the theory and apply it and it made the art better. That was Tandy's working theory anyway. But whatever, Pesha sounded ...distant wasn't the right word but whatever went down with his grandma, he was clearly still mourning. It felt a little intrusive, which Tandy wasn't into but he carried on with what was probably literally a ritual, making a spell - which okay, before he hadn't exactly believed in this shit but now he was watching someone who definitely did.
"The Craft which remains the archetype of cheesy teenage witch movies which attempt to be scary," Tandy said sagely, and Pesha looked like the trip up memory lane hadn't perma-crashed his mood. But he was working through the logic, and he knotted his hands together and leaned forward, careful not to crack his head.
"They see what I want them to see? How does that part work? And will it change, if I want it to look different?" He was thinking of a credit card, but Pesha did the thing with a language that Tandy definitely hadn't taken in hs and he had no idea what was in the bottle with the black cork but okay, magic had done the thing.
