Re: Adrian M/Claire J
I am hoping you will let me know if I get too preachy. [...] That is all that can be asked of you. No one is expected to be perfect. We are not meant to be. We are given free will to do as we wish. When we realize we have done something wrong, it is our duty to own up to that mistake and that will make us better people.
Have you heard of the Prosperity Gospel? [...] I love reading ancient texts. Please call me. [...] Arsenkoitai is the word used, and people translate it to mean homosexual men. However, in a book that has literally thousands upon thousands of verses about how people should give to the poor and the rich should help who they can, and only six that vaguely allude to homosexuality, it seems the word should be translated to 'abusers of the poor'. Their translation is technically correct, but that is not how the word is used in any other account. So the verse should read as how God detests those who do not stand up for what it right and those that abuse the poor. Not how He thinks some man on man action is a sin. [...] And they believe he made up the word based on the super rich guys that kept young male concubines that could not afford any other life. Using money to entrap and belittle others.
