He watched her step away and then reach for him again. There was a sign of unknowning, like she wasn't sure if his bark was as bad as his bite. Leo didn't know. Sometimes he tried to bark and bark and bark until people got tired and left him alone. Sometimes he wanted someone who would keep coming back, a gentle touch like fingers on the crook of his elbow.
"I mean, I am a disappointment to all fans. They're expecting me to act like I did as a kid." Which was, to put it simply, very chipper. He was a sweet kid, bright eyed, bushy tailed and annoying how right he was all the time. When people met him they wanted that except as an adult and what they got was a sulky, gloomy twenty-something who scoffed before signing DVDs.
"Being here alone sucks, though. I get creeped out or just sad. Sometimes both." He took her coat and lumped it with his, walking over to a place to hang them before slapping his hands together.
"Okay, where do you want to go? I know what you're going to say, I don't know what any of these rooms are! Yes you do. Just imagine what a mansion owned by my dad is like and he's got that room."
