log; ren & louis WHO: Ren Solitaire & Louis Donovan. WHEN: After the Halloween party WHERE: The diner. SUMMARY: Pancakes and relationship. WARNINGS: None yet, will update as needed.
The diner was warm next to the now-November air. Halloween seemed to have brought autumn crashing to a close with it, and the weather had taken a particular chill that seemed more like winter than autumn. With that realization, as Ren stepped fully into the diner and shook his dark hair back there followed on its heals another, that he and Louis had been dating, somewhat, on and off for a year. It had been a Secret Santa that had given him his date with Louis. Specifically, it had been Louis that had given him his date.
A hint of a smile played at his lips at the memory, even as he scanned the diner to see if his slender, light haired, somewhat complicated lover were in the diner yet. Not seeing him Ren headed towards a back booth, near one of the heat vents, and he slid in even as a waitress appeared with menus and water. Ren ordered a cup of coffee, then after a moment's thought added a second one for Louis, and turned his attention to the menu.
Ot at least, that was the thought in his head as his eyes glanced down at the words on the page.
The truth was that his mind was wandering. He was more nervous than he wanted to be about this breakfast, uncertain whether or not Louis was still interested in what they had, or if there was something Ren ought to be worried about. His ability to pick out good partners in the past had never been known for being stellar. Certainly Louis was far kinder and gentler than some of the partners Ren had picked up. He wasn't abusing him physically or emotionally, and he didn't seem to want to play games. The strange incident at the park hadn't been a purposeful attempt to set him off on edge, it was just part of who Louis was, and while Ren still wasn't entirely certain how he felt about it, he still felt as if he could trust Louis.
He wasn't certain if he even knew what he wanted. He had his own place now, a larger apartment that was beginning to feel like home, but also felt more empty at times. He shook of the thoughts, and glanced down at the menu. Pancakes.
