Re: Coffee: Archie W/Caleb R
Months ago, it had been Caleb that checked Archie into the B&B. Some people stayed longer, some stayed only a few months or weeks before moving onto a different town, or a different place to stay in town. Archie had all the hallmarks of someone that stayed.
But given the evening before, he'd forgotten how diminutive Archie was, especially once the door opened and he was keenly aware of how he was looking down to meet his gaze. "Yeah, it's --" he shook his head and smiled a little, bashful, his gaze dodging down before lifting again to meet Archie's.
Meeting here was nicer than getting pushed off someone's lap. There was a politeness in Archie's words though and that had him smiling. "Thank you for the invite."
The bed seemed like more of an invitation that he wasn't sure he was ready to take up, so the chair it was, even if it did need some attention. He didn't mind, but he'd have to make sure the maid got up here to dust everything. "Coffee, please."
Tea for him should be served with ice, and with so much sugar that it made the teeth ache. "Black." It was uncomplicated in the way he wanted to be, but wasn't. "You didn't have to do this, you know? I appreciate it." He paused for a moment, watching Archie pour his tea into a cup. "Was this your first event here?"
