Re: Call: Jeremiah/Hannah
What does home taste like? [She listens and sips, listens and sips.] This place is really, really different from that. I wasn't in New York very long, but it sounds a little like New York. Your house is like where I grew up, and like where I lived when I was married. We lived on the intercoastal in Florida, and it was always sticky and warm, and our back doors opened onto private beaches. It was always sunny, and the sky was big and wide and open. You could see for miles and miles, and you could hear the oceans crash and crash, always, and it never, ever stopped. There were birds, gulls, and lizards and sometimes frogs singing, especially in the rainy summers. But you had to drive to get anywhere. We had drivers. We had gardeners, too, and I never planted anything.
