Re: quicklog: connie and cris awkward blind date
[Connie nodded the way people do when they're agreeing to something just be nice. Not because she didn't want dance lessons, but because she could just imagine the trouble she'd get into with Sam and whoever else she knew if Connie accepted that offer. And, as for learning to grind from Sam? Not happening, but she didn't shake her head. Just smiled, trying really hard to not be petty about everything. Cris insisted that Sam didn't mean to hurt her feelings and Connie believed that. It just hurt. A lot. And she couldn't get past that yet.
The hug was a nice surprise and she wrapped her arms around his middle, briefly putting the side of her head against his chest before they mutually let go. She did a very good job at not thinking about how nice he smelled or how strong his arms were. Connie was proud of herself for that. He brought up Sam and she just nodded. Trying to be cool about it.
The challenge was a lot easier for her to take. Connie found that slacker persona that had been wasted by today's not-so-pleasant surprise and held onto it like she'd never let go.] Okay, deal. You get a month to practice. And then it's OON!! [She pumped her fists at her side in geeky arrogance.] See you later, alligator. [Connie turned and went straight for the B&B, even if she was a little early for work. At least she could get a nap in.]
