Re: quicklog: connie and cris awkward blind date
[Connie wasn't used to humiliation. She was immune to it, or so she thought. Being the town weirdo, keeping to herself, always having a good laugh about something. There wasn't a time she could remember really feeling like someone kicked the legs out from under her. Not since her dad and that wasn't something she wanted to think about. Through her anger, she mentally went over her conversation with Sam and wondered if this was some weird way to get back at her for what happened on the train or if Sam actually thought that Connie would be better for Cris. That thought made her laugh, a wet bubbled thing that was directed to no one in particular and she shook her head.]
Do you really- are you really that short on friends? [Connie asked and she sniffed, palming her eyes one after the other to make her makeup smudge a little. At this point, she couldn't care less.] Well, I guess I am, too. [A sigh because leaving was just going to make her feel worse and losing herself in scores and buttons and menus would help her forget that she was so pathetic.] So, okay, let's play something. DDR. [She pointed to the machine, which didn't look like much of a video game. More like some kind of weird, dancing torture device.] And, you can't say no.
