Re: [Outside the Rec Center.]
Holly quirked a brow, because he wasn't referring to dishonesty about being in the room when he, Holly, told guys about him, Noah. He didn't even have to explain or clarify, because Noah made it there all on his own, and Holly narrowed his eyes just a little at the super obvious callout about the backpedaling. "Okay, I deserve that. I did the bathroom thing and didn't say I hated it until after," he admitted, and, yeah, okay, he'd really hated the bathroom thing. But none of those bad feels were present when he thought about the stream. "But I normally don't do that, and I was just trying to keep you interested, okay? In future, I'll tell you if I hate something." As for Jack, he only marginally got it. He assumed Noah's thing about Jack was about money, right? "He says he does it, the anonymous thing, so I figured I'd ask," he explained, and he gave him a look. "Have you ever not gotten bored?"
But, right, skepticism. See, Holly was way skeptical and jaded and everything else, and Noah hadn't been, not with any regularity, so it kinda threw Holly into a tailspin. "You don't need to apologize," he said, right on the heels of Noah apologizing about Jamie. "I get it. I kinda hate every girl you talk to, but I'm saying they're not the same person, right? And I could've gotten him back at home, but I didn't want that version either." He didn't comment about scariness. Maybe he didn't have to because, you know, panic set in.
It like really set in. It dug itself deep into marrow, and he normally wasn't this up and down. He had really shitty control of his emotions today, and a good night's sleep would probably help with that, you know, at least marginally. Maybe he'd go do fries while Noah saw Bea, and then he could sleep. And, you know, maybe Noah could come over or something. But all that thought was, like, a nanosecond before he sat back, panic climbing into his throat. He didn't even notice the impact to his head, really, because his head was still throbbing from the hangover, and, yeah, maybe too much for one day.
So, right, he fixed on the one thing Noah said before all that reaching. I mean, he went, right. Noah yanked on jacket, and Holly came down with braced hands on the door and on either side of Noah's head. "That's not the point. Look, okay? I get you don't mind if someone else sucks my cock. I mind. Okay? I mind!"
