Re: [Outside the Rec Center.]
To be fair, Noah might've found himself confused by the mundanity of Holly's Repose, by the lack of creeping shadow and marked mystery he was used to. Any fundamental shift of reality was going to be a hard pill to swallow, right? No matter how many times you imagined swallowing the pill. (Questionable metaphor, but you know what I mean.) Noah was pretty sure most people wouldn't take this in stride. Not in a single stride. Holly was doing his best, and, dude, it was a lot to take in. Even Noah would've been knocked off his feet at news that his mom was a secret vampire or something, and that's even knowing that vampires exist. He just felt bad for Holly, because, on top of all the other stuff, now there was this, and it'd felt like a precarious Jenga tower before.
But, Noah was warm. He was a big boy, you know? Like Holly, but without the sexy softness. And he was happy to be a grounding rod, physically or otherwise, for Holly, to offer him some ledge to hold onto as the rest of everything did what Holly'd referred to before as 'tilting.' And, Noah totally would've let Holly put his hands under shirt and jacket, if he wanted. But, Holly probably knew that, so Noah let him do what he wanted to do as he was held. Noah himself ran fingers through Holly's hair, his other hand low on his back, finding purchase on the indentation above ass, and, yeah, he sang. He didn't need to know the lyrics.
When Holly pulled back, he knew it was for a quip. He smiled without shame, and rolled a shoulder in a half-shrug. "It's the edited version," was his own response, though, per usual, it offered no deadpanness and with a stupid, goofy smile, just shy of a laugh. It quieted a little when Holly sighed and Noah let his hands slip away and down as the other dude stepped back. Cut the engine. Noah glanced at Holly, then opened the driver's side door, and reached in and over to pull the keys from the ignition after cutting the engine from idle. Metal jingled together as the keys were pocketed, and Noah moved out of the way, so he could close the door again. He turned back toward Holly, looking at him expectantly. "Oh, you want to hear my singing better." He smiled, removing the distance he'd just put between them to do as he was asked. But, he let the joking fall aside as he touched Holly's jaw, if able.
