The generosity on top of what he'd already been shown was startling to Wren and he looked straight up at Jeremiah, his fork hand still for a moment. "Really?!" he exclaimed, as though Jeremiah's offer of a blanket was better than an offer of a new car or pet dog or whatever it was kids liked these days. "Jeremiah, that, are you sure?" he seemed to think that blankets came at a premium, but the idea of something gifted to him by his new friend warmed his heart as much as an actual blanket would warm his body.
