Re: quicklog: eddie/steph apartment
[Steph? She was freaked out. Okay, freaked was a little bit of an overstatement. She was panicked though, definitely. She worried Eddie had been body-snatched or lobotomized or something worse. But, something about him also seemed so Eddie. But not the Eddie she'd known only a couple of hours before. The Eddie that she knew when she was first dating him, the lightness and joy and silliness. Before all of the pain they suffered together and apart. Before the weight of the world settled on his shoulders. His words felt happier, and even when he was upset, the joking didn't feel as dark and forced at it had recently.
By the time Eddie had come, she had worked herself down. Talking to Hannah helped. She wasn't about to like, drive him to the Capital and try to get his brain checked. She wanted to talk mostly and make sure he was physically okay.
When she opened the door to her apartment, she hadn't changed out of the scrubs she'd worn undercover -- lilac and a little fitted. She had gone back to the orphanage again to try to gather more intel. Her blonde hair was pulled back, and she had a pair of thick-rimmed glasses on. A half-full glass of wine sat on the counter with a bottle resting nearby. Despite everything, she smiled at him when she saw him. Yes, that was Eddie, even if the suit was a little cheerier than she'd seen him in before. As he walked past her and began to talk, Steph moved to grab his wrist to stop him.] Hey, hey, hey. [She tried again to pause him, to pull him to look at her.] I'm sorry. I'm sorry if I upset you.
